Description
A global study of coaching supervision was conducted in 2018 that resulted in responses from 1,280 coaches about various aspects of coaching supervision. Of these respondents, 497 were from executive coaches who reported living in the Americas (e.g., North, Central, and South America). This presentation examines the responses from these American coaches, in particular, to provide insight into their general awareness, and practices for both individual and group coaching supervision. These results are particularly noteworthy because coaching supervision is still in the early stages of adoption in the Americas. This study represents the first sizable data-set to provide information and insights on this topic. In today’s session, we will discuss how executive coaches in the Americas find, experience, and expect to compensate their coach supervisors. We will learn what participants see as the benefits of supervision, how frequently they receive supervision, and the types of challenges they bring to supervision. In this session, you will learn from both the study results, as well as other coaches in breakout groups.

Kimcee McAnally, Ph.D., PCC, ESIA is an executive coach, coaching supervisor, organizational psychologist, researcher, and author with 20+ years of working with businesses in the areas of executive coaching, leadership development, change management, and organizational development. Kimcee holds a PhD and MS degree in Organizational Psychology, and BA in Psychology. She is recognized as a PCC (Professional Certified Coach) with ICF (International Coach Federation). Dr. McAnally is a certified Coach Supervisor, holds the ESIA (European Supervision Individual Accreditation) distinction from EMCC, and has received supervision training from CSTD (Centre for Supervision Training) based in Bath, U.K., and the Goldvarg Consulting Group (U.S.A.). Kimcee is passionate about research and writing about coaching and coaching supervision and has presented at conferences around the world on the topics.
