The Master Certified Coach (MCC) is the highest level of coach certification offered by the ICF. As of 2020, there were only 1,258 MCC-accredited coaches in the world. This group is for MCCs to meet and learn from each other. We will discuss challenges, coaching trends, and how to advocate for the development of the coaching professional practice worldwide. This session will unpack the brain science of fear and help give you the tools you need to work with clients to help reduce anxiety, quiet the mental chatter, and take actions that will help manage uncertainty. The brain naturally organizes information by looking for patterns, associations, and categories. Implicit bias is influenced by our background, culture, and experiences. Yet implicit thinking becomes a hindrance as we live and work in an increasingly diverse society. This Special DEI Event will evoke awareness on identifying biases, keeping them in check, and evolving beyond them.
Please join Ellen and Desiree Briel Rodi as they discuss The Brain Science of Overcoming Fear - This will be both a continuation of the conversation with James Garrett from the Emotional Intelligence SIG and a new and different perspective from Desiree’s experience as a coach. They will provide a brief overview of James Garrett’s research and will then discuss practical tools and coaching situations related to fear.
